TOURNAMENT GAME RULES Players
can only be on one team's roster. Teams rosters consist of 3 to 6
people. Only 5 people can play at a time! You must
have a pitcher and 2 fielders, but may also have 2 designated hitters.
Once you decide how many players will be in your lineup at the beginning
of each game (3, 4, or 5), you must maintain that same number of players
throughout the entire game. Failure to do so will result in a
penalty. You can freely substitute or rotate players throughout the
game. Players substituting will take the batting order of the player
they have entered the game for. These players may re-enter the game
later. Rotating positions does not affect the batting order.
Captains must notify other team of changes. Modified
plastic bats may be used as well as some aluminum bats designed for Wiffleball. The rule is that you must share bats with the team you
are playing. Bats can be a maximum of 2 3/4 inches in
diameter. Any bats found to be larger than this will be removed from
the tournament. The tourney will supply 3 bats per field (loaded,
taped, and authentic) as well as official wiffleballs. Every
game will get one new ball. You may choose to select a used ball
from the crate or use your own official Wiffleball. This you do not
have to share. No cracks more than a 1/4" on a ball. No
substances added to ball. Please return balls to crate after each
game. Each
game is 5 Innings; 2 Outs per team per inning; 10 run rule after the 4th
inning; Any extra inning games starts with bases loaded; 4Balls to walk
(hit batter counts as a ball). A check swing is when a bat does not
break the plane of the plate. 3 strikes for an out. Any ball
that is thrown into the net is a strike. Does not have to stay in.
If it hits the edges of the board, but doesn't go into the net, it is not
a strike. Foul tips are strikes (if you have 2 strikes and foul tip
goes into the net it is an out, even if it pops back out). Balls
that land and stay within 12' or less of the plate will be considered
foul. This area will be clearly marked with a line. Do not
attempt to stop pitches with your hand or other parts of your body, those
will be called a strike. A swing and a miss is a strike. The
net is 31" X 31" and 12" from the ground. Backboards
should be a bat's length from the back of the plate. A pitching box will designate the pitching area. Pitchers must start their windup with part of one foot on this box. The backboard is placed at 45 ' from the front of the pitching box. Outs
are recorded by striking a batter out, catching a fly ball, or fielding a
ball before the singles line (does not have to be fielded cleanly, just
can not touch the ground once player has touched it). No gloves or
hats can be used to catch balls for an out. No bunting.
Bunting will be called an out. Hits are any ball that goes dead before the singles line before a fielder gets it (and is not a bunt). Any ball that hits or goes past the singles line on the ground or lands before the double line is a single. Any ball that hits or goes past the doubles line in the air is a double, unless it clears the fence or tape. Then it is a home run. All runners advance as many bases as the hitter (except with a walk and then runners must be forced). |
